Mandatory/elective course choices: Students choose four courses from the following six areas (no more than 1 in each area – this ensures a broad knowledge base that can be further specified in graduate studies).

  1. Water Resourse Engineering
  2. Transportation Engineering
  3. Structural Engineering
  4. Geotechnical Engineering
  5. Environmental Engineering
  6. Construction Engineering

Capstone Design Project:
During the last semester of study, students must participate in a Senior Capstone Design Project (6 ECTS). The main purpose of the design experience is to prepare students for the real-world challenges in the field of Civil Engineering by exposing them to industry and allowing them to use their developed problem-solving skills to find engineering design solutions to industry problems.

The students will also develop their managerial skills through planning, design and meeting deadlines together with industry participation. Finally, students will improve their communication, presentation and teamwork skills during these practical components of the programme.

Applicants must pass the Unified National Examinations and meet the program’s minimum competency thresholds:

  • English: 40% + 1.
  • Georgian: the minimum threshold established by the National Assessment and Examinations Center.
  • Mathematics: 40% + 1, or Physics: 40% + 1.
  • Lectures and Seminars/Written and verbal method;
  •  Laboratory Work;
  • Practical Work;
  • Project Work Individually and in Teams.

Note:
Specific teaching methods are identified for each individual program component and are listed in relevant syllabi.

Graduates can work in:

  • Construction of civil and infrastructure facilities, including hydraulic structures, roads, engineering structures, and civil and industrial buildings.
  • Design and engineering investigation offices working on buildings, roads, bridges, hydraulic structures, retaining walls and foundations.
  • Engineering consultancy companies.
  • Construction inspection and expert assessment offices.
  • Construction and property development companies.
  • State and municipal institutions, including construction-related departments of city halls, municipalities and ministries.

Graduates may also continue their education at Master’s level.
