ILIA STATE UNIVERSITY
Student Design Project Lab
The laboratory is open to all computer and electrical engineering students. Here, they practically implement their own engineering projects – from an idea to a ready prototype. The Senior Design Project is also carried out in the laboratory. The space is equipped with the necessary equipment for prototyping: 3D printers, CNC and laser machines, special optical tools, a PCB Pick and Place machine, a Reflow Oven, various hardware, and electromechanical tools.
➳ Location T 201
Circuit Analysis Lab
The laboratory is intended for the study of electrical circuits, signals, and power systems. Students practically learn how current flows in circuits, how measuring instruments work, and how electricity is converted and transmitted.
➳ Location T 202
Digital Electronics Lab
The laboratory is intended for the study of digital systems, microcontrollers, and digital signal processing. Students practically learn how digital devices are created, how code is written for FPGA chips, how embedded systems work, and how digital signals are processed and transmitted.
➳ Location T 203
Applied Hydraulics Experimental Lab
The laboratory is intended for the physical modeling of applied hydraulics. Students perform modeling of the fundamental law of fluid mechanics, Bernoulli’s principle, and practically verify pre-calculated results. The lab also conducts modeling of free surface flow and turbulent flow in an open channel, as well as hydraulic modeling of hydrotechnical structures. Modeling of the cavitation effect and precipitation, along with the calculation of fluid movement and losses in pipelines, is also covered. Students can observe the laws of fluid motion in practice.
➳ Location T 206
Solid Mechanics Experimental Lab
The laboratory is intended for the physical modeling of solid mechanics. Students carry out compression and tension tests, bending, and testing of concrete cubes on the equipment. Students also model beams and columns under loads on the machines. On these machines, students learn how structural elements work and what properties they exhibit. Students also have the opportunity to see the effects of compression, tension, bending, torsion, and loss of stability in practice.

Computing Center
Ilia State University Computing Center was founded in 2018 — the first modern university computing center in Georgia. Its resources consist of 240 processor cores, 572 GB of RAM, and 10 TB of data storage. The center serves educational and research purposes — machine learning, bioinformatics, astrophysics, and Georgian language processing. In the future, it is planned to expand international cooperation and involve more research groups.
